I have a 1994 Chevy S-10 Z motor 4x4 that has some problems. When I come up to a stop sign or red light it almost dies, then works revs back up and then almost dies and finally lunges forward, with my foot on the brake the whole time. Also when I was warming it up the other day it revved all the way to peaking, while I was on the porch and no one was near it. My uncle thinks EGR valve, my dad thinks computer, any ideas?

With any idle issue, I clean the throttle-body and check the iac/idle air control. Any applicable mil codes? You can check those codes yourself.

You probably have a tbi gasket blown if it's that style of motor. Spray choke cleaner at base of tbi unit and if rpm changesthen it's bad.
