1993 Subaru Justy Catalytic converter

Does it have a catalytic converter? It is a carburetor car with no ECU and no oxygen sensors.
It does have a big cylinder shaped thing coming out of the exhaust manifold (first photo)

The car in the second photo doesn`t even have one.

And please experts only not just throwing guesses.

I was previously told that it has an ECU with oxygen sensors. *FACEPALM*

Its called a thermal reactor
They are big and have a heat shield like a cat.
They don't die if you run leaded fuel in them
They were used by the Germans in the 70's
They reduce emissions
They don't require stoichiometry

Wrong again, I just checked in an exhaust shop who splits these things all the time, it is indeed a catalytic convertor, just with no sensors( it even has the holes for the sensors when it is equipped with them, mine just isn't)
