Auto. Trans. Will go into reverse right away, but not forward until it idles until it warms up, then when driving it wont shift into 3rd. Unless you turn ign. Off and back on. After driving a few blocks it is ok. This is a wheel chair equipped van and badly needed. If you say to ck. Sensors please tell me where they are located and where the controls are. Thank you.

Check for fluid being full if it is take to a trans guy so he scanfor codes, it may have internal damage

Well you probalby have a valve body or internal problem. It could be electrical as well but what do you expect as we aren't able to actually see this vehicl and HAVE to go by YOUR description.
