Truck won't start unless pulled.

Hi guys, Happy Easter.....I'm having a problem with my '93 Nissan pickup, with a 2.4L engine. My truck will not start on its own....the starter is spinning plenty fast, and it acts like it wants to start, but won't....however, if I pull-start it with another vehicle, it will start. I can't even get it to start in the garage with starting fluid, and after turning it over for 8-10 seconds, it smells like it's flooding. I hope someone can help me, and thanks for any responses.
