1993 Mitsubishi Lancer Carburetor Type After Driving Couple Hours Had Parked

i have a 1993 mitsubishi lancer carburetor type, after driving a couple of hours and had it parked for an hour i started it after a couple of minutes the engine stalled and try to start it again but it wont start. i have to choke in order to run it again. what seems to be the problem with the engine
