I have the upper timing cover off, do I need to remove the lower section? How many bolts in the pump? How do I remove the timing belt?
Do you
have the same problem?

Removal & Installation (SOHC)

Drain engine coolant. Disconnect negative battery cable. Position No. 1 cylinder at TDC of compression stroke. Remove right side cover and undercover. Remove drive belts and water pump pulley. Remove timing belt.
See TIMING BELT under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Unbolt water inlet pipe from water pump. Water pump inlet pipe has lower radiator hose and by pass pipe attached to it. Remove water pump. To install,
reverse removal procedure. Tighten bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS. 14-19 ft lbs on pump bolts.
