1993 Mazda MX6 Repair Question

1993 MX6 Transmission ****ing / dashlight issue after R&R with 1996 Transmission
Hello,
I recently purchased a 1993 MX6 where the previous owner had replaced the Automatic Transmission with one out of a 1996 MX6. The issue is that the only gears that work now are 1st and 2nd ONLY. if you place the shifter in neutral or reverse you get the same results. I am able to put it in park but there is no reverse at all. I am also seeing the airbag warning light on the dash spuratically on then off. I have previously experienced issues with a millenia I used to own that rersulted in a TCM module separate from the ECM as resolving my issue but I don't see a separate module for this car. any help would be stellar.

you will most likely need to get the correct trans for the car to start. after that, the other issues can be addressed. 93 and 96 are not interchangable from my trans guys.
