Lexus SC 400 Water pump Problem
The water pump went bad in my friends 93 lexus sc400.
he changed the water pump and put it all back together. it started fine, ran for 20 minutes fine, then it cut out, he then changed the timing belt but it still wont start,
Any ideas out there as to why?

Did it make any wierd sounds when it, started to cut out? This usually caused by one of 2 things, either the electronic modules in top cam gears have went bad or and most probable he reused the old hydraulic tensioner and it failed after running a few minutes. I have learned the hard way a couple of times on this motor, you always replace the water pump and timing belt and tensioners, if not it will jump time and bend all the valves.
