How to install a universal starter switch.

Jeep will not start. replaced starter and battery cables. It has a new battery. turn key on, no start or clicking noise. I would like to bypass the ignition switch. cannot find wiring diagram for this model without buying really expensive repair manual, cannot afford this. How and where do I install the starter switch. model is a dorman 85935 universal starter switch. Any help would be appreciated.

You can't simply do that. This is a sophisticated electrical circuit that is likely integrated with an immobilizer security system that cannot be bypassed.

Changing the ignition lock would have done nothing for the electrical circuit. Your problem may not even have anything to do with the ignition switch.

There is also an early and late design with a relay that is operated by the PCM.

Here are the diagrams but you need electrical knowledge to read them correctly.
