Any ideas on why it won't start?

We were driving and my husband looked down and the Rodeo was running way too hot before we could get stopped it had died...we waited till it cooled down and now it will turn over but won't start..we had a new timing belt put on about 1-11/2 years ago.... any suggestions would be appreciated...... Thanks

You need to check three things for me. First, make sure it is getting spark. Next, check for fuel pressure to the engine. Third, check engine compression. Let me know what you find.
