1993 Infinity G20 the alt putting out only 11.06 volts and steadily dropping
1993 Infinity G20 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 225000 miles. I don't think my alternator is charging properly. While the car is running, a test showed the alt putting out only 11.06 volts and steadily dropping. When the car was off, the battery was close to 12 volts. Is there anything else to consider before I replace the alternator?

Get a voltmeter and read the open battery voltage on the battery before you start it up, it should be 12.4 volts or higher, less recharge battery. Now, start it up and read battery voltage should be 13.5 - 15.5 volts with headlights and heater on, if not it could be the alternator not putting out or the battery is not taking the charge. Or the field generation from the computer.
