Check the crank pulley. If it is turning in a wavy pattern when viewed from above, the harmonic damper is bad and would result in belt noise and burning rubber smell.

Where is the crank pulley located

At engine lower portion on driver side.
It is the lowest pulley where the drive belts are installed on.
