What makes transmisson go in forward and reverse
when u put it in drive

There are several things in the transmission that causes it to go forward. The hydraulic fluid supplies pressure via the valve body and sends it to a clutch pack. From there, bands lock or unlock the clutch drum (low reverse drum)and forces the power through the planetary gear in the direction requested.
