1993 Ford Explorer Repair Question

Ford Explorer Body Problem
My Explorer shifts great until I am at highway speeds and it wont go into Overdrive. When I am doing 55 MPH the RPMs are at 2500 and gas milage is just plain terrible. What should I check first and is this common problem??

yes it is. it could be the converter or the solenoid. it is in the valve body of the trans.
