I have a 1993 Chrysler Le Baron Convertible with a 3.0L/V6 Engine. I bought this car last week and the second day I had it the serpentine belt broke which the engine has two belts (one ribbed belt for the Alternator/Power Steering/Crankshaft/Idler pulley/tensioner pulley) and a V belt for the others. The idler pulleys baerrings siezed up so I replaced it along with the belt. Up until yesterday the car started right up everytime and ran pretty good but started to overheat if ran for a longtime and at a stand still but did not overheat while driving, only when I came to a stop for longer than 2 mins. Yesterday while I was at the taco bell drive through I was at the window for a long time so I decided to turn my car off while waiting, the temp guage was climbinmg but did not reach full heat. So after my food arrived probably 3 mins after I turned it off I went to start it and I got absolutely nothing not even a attempt to turn over everything came on like it was noirmal but when I went to turn the key to start it up my car didnt make even a peep kinda like the car was still hooked up to the ignition electrical wise but the engine itself weasnt responding I feel like I have to explain exactly what I mean by nothing. When the key was half turned it makes the electrical clicking noises but when turned al lthe way I get no noises from electrical or engine turning. What could the problem be? How does a car that starts up everytime first turn in 1 second go to nothing in 3 mins?

Check battery condition as well as load test first. Tensioner should be replaced when belt is replaced. When car heats up check radiator for cold spots if there are any then replace the radiator. Make sure it is full of coolant first though. Then if battery good check charging system
