Chevrolet Corvette Shifter Problem
My 93 Corvette is having shifting problems. I have the 6 speed manual. Going from 1st to 2nd gear is the problem. As I go to shift, the shifter has a lot of resistance as I pull on it. It is actually stuck for a second. Then it grinds as I make the shift from 1st to 2nd. Please note, that the clutch is fully pushed in as I make this shift. Going into the other gears is fine after that. What would cause this problem?

syncro has worn out. most likely has to be replaced. have a trans shop verify this before asummeing this repair

What is the syncro? I also wanted to mention that the shifter does not always grind when I go from 1st to 2nd gear. Would that still be the syncro even though it doesn't happen every time?
