1993 Chevrolet Cavalier Ve Had Over 1 000 Engine Work Done Try Fix This Car

I've had over $1,000 of engine work done to try and fix this. My car starts and runs good for about 25 miles on interstate, then when I get off the interstate and stop the car dies. It will start right back up but when I drop it in gear it dies immediately. After sitting all night it will run again for awhile then do the same thing. It can sit for a day and will run another 25 miles or so, then do the same thing.
