1993 Chevrolet Cavalier 93 Chevy Z24 3 1l Wondering Engine Gets Hot Loses Power

I have a 93 chevy cavalier z24 with a 3.1L and i was wondering when my engine gets hot it loses power and the temp gauge fluctuates when its hot? i already changed the temp. sensor on this date 10-07-12, i put a new thermostat on this date: 4-08-11
i checked the coolant level and it full, I put new catalytic converter on this date:2-20-10, could it be the catalytic converter plugging up?

start with a leak down test for head gaskets. this failure is a result of overheating not the cause. you need to find the leak and get it attended to right away
