Starting disabled

My friend has a 93 cadallac elderado & they are unable to start it. The car won't turn over it says "starting disabled due to antitheft system"? Can you please help. Thank you

If he still has the owneres manual look under resetting anti theft system. Try to reset it. It may take a fw minutes to do it but it may start then.

There are two different systems to this car. If he has another key try using the other key as the diode on the key he is using may be bad. If not go to a locksmisth and have another key made and try that. One that has a good diode. That may unlock the system. Otherwise it's got to go to a shop and someone who konws how to fix it.
