I have a bmw 320i 1993 it has starting problems. All the ignition lights come on when we try turn it on but it wont start. We're tried new battries and the alternator is fine. If we jump start it with jumper leads or directly to the sloenoid of starter motor it will start. We think it may be electrical. Can you help please?

If it starts by jumping to the solenoid, the battery cables need to be cleaned at both ends or replaced. Corrosion builds up inside the cables and on the ends, after a while too much resistance builds up for the car to start. Make sure the negative cable has a good clean contact at the engine block.

If you hear a click and nothing happens, check cables and barrery, if you get nothing and the lights work, check solenoid/relay.
