How to change the ratio of my rear differential

I am swapping my trans for a 98 legacy and i need to change the ratio of the rear differential and i dont now if i swap the rack and pinions for the svx to the legacy trans or the other way around thanks

the one from the svx is 3.9 and the one from the legacy is .44

i take it you want to keep the 3.9? you would put the 3.9 into legacy trans since that's the 1 going into car?

the legacy trans is going into the svx because the trans on my svx is shot

ok so the 98 legacy trans is going into the svx but the problem is the rear differential has a diffrent ratio so i need to change the ratio of the rear differential

why is it a problem? ratio does not seem that far apart? do axles fit in the 444?
