1992 Saturn SL2 Repair Question

For the air conditon do you have to have a higher fuse then when the car calls 7.5
I have a 92 saturn. the mechanic i took it to said it needed a higher fuse then 7.5 because its older car. another said no. i have replaced the vales. i put a 7.5 in the other day and it was blown before the next day. all the other fuses seem fine.

No never put a higher amp fuse then its suppose to have older or not.There is a short in the wire to the ac compressor or a bad ac clutch/compressor.With the engine turned off does the center of the ac compressor turn freely?Also look at the wire running along the side of the ac compressor is it grounded out somewhere to the ac compressor?I have seen some like that.
