The car is a 1992 Pontiac Sunbird. The car starts fine. But while driving the car it just cuts off. Then you have to wait a few minutes to be able to start the car again. The car only has about 70,000 miles.

With intermittent issues, you have to test when problem is ongoing. If it cranks good but won't start, have a helper crank it while you visually check for spark at the plugs. If spark everywhere, use a gage and check fuel pressure. Be careful about spraying gas all over a hot engine. Your obd1, you can check mil codes, anything?

To check for spark at the spark plugs, carry a known good spark plug or spark tester in the glove box, it won't be hot. If spark plug wire is hot, use a glove. Pull spark plug wire off spark plug, stick tester in boot, ground/touch metal part of tester to metal part of engine, engine cranking watch for spark. It's possble you have an intermittent rpm signal, hard to be sure without testing?
