1992 Peugeot 306 Repair Question

Peugeot 306 Engine Problem
How difficult is it to fix bottom end bearing the engine had a knocking noise then lost all power and wont turn over but isnt ceased as i can turn the main pulley round with a socket and will i need a new motor or just the bottom end

i would replace the motor. it would be cheaper than fixing yours
