Nissan Truck Smoke Problem

One day i was going to school and my car was working perfectly then when i got home and try to start it again it started but it started to smoke and then i shut it off, it didn't start it for a while because i thought it might be over heated, the second time i tried to start it nothing would work so we thought it was the battery and when we tried to jump it a wire started to smoke, and it smelled the same way it did when it smoked before. So i got it towed to my house and when i tried it a couple of days ago the batteries fine the radio and lights worked but the car still wont start.
