I have a 1992 nissan 2400 4 cylinder 4x4. I bought new battery. Truck still started slugish. I got home turmed it off and it wouldnt crank back. Jumped it off. Let it run a few and took of positive cable. Engine died immedietly. Im thinking alternator.

The problem may be in the starter itself. Try cleaning the starter with brake cleaner thourougly and see if it makes a difference. Also check the battery cables and make sure that they have a tight metal to metal rust free contact.
