1992 Mercury Tracer Tracer Electric Window Control On Driver Side Longer Works

i have a 1992 tracer. the electric window control on the driver side no longer works. i have tried to locate another control box for the windows with no luck. i need to know if i replace the entire door with a manual window system will that work. the only door i can find in my area is from a 1993 tracer. or is there an easier/cheaper way to accomplish this. i have the control box and it seems i might be able to open it up and replce some parts but i havent done that to see if its even possible.
