Mercury Capri Alternator Problem

I have installed an Autozone Duralast alternator(lifetime warranty) multiple times. They only last a few thousand miles and start sqealing or breaking belts. What is the best brand alt. I can get in new or reman?

the ones you buy should be remanufactured, take a straight edge and see if your belt is in line and not have a spacermissing or incorrectly placed.

I think the bearing/bushing in the Duralast alternator is going out. I replaced the belt and still had a squealing noise(lights and heater fan on) when the throttle was increased. I installed a new alternator from NAPA and Gates XL cogged belt. No noise or issues. Let's see how long this one lasts.
