Jeep Cherokee Engine Problem

There is a chugging/lunging/ jerking that usually happens in 3rd-5th gear while on an incline.
driving a 1992 jeep cherokee with an inline-6 engine and manual transmission. oil just changed
the problem arose after off-roading then spraying down undercarriage to get the mud off
any ideas on how to fix it? details help

HAVE YOU PUT 'IM UP HIGH ON JACK STANDS AND LAY DOWN UNDER HIM WITH A BRIGHT LIGHT AND A HAND MIRROR..........LOOKING FOR LOOSE OR DANGLING CONNECTORS?
