1992 Jeep Cherokee Repair Question

Jeep Cherokee Engine Problem
New starter wont rotate engine even when jumped but engine rotates by hand no problem just swaped it into the 92 it is and 89 4.0 out of cherokee with aw4 trans and np242 transfer case trans and transfer case linkage not hooked up trying to start for first time

the starter may be the wrong one, because they (jeep) may have changed flywheel diamters check with auto arts store to see if it is correct.
