My 1992 GMC 1500 sounds like a jet engine taking off. Could that be a worn fan clutch.

My hearing is no good. I'm not good with noises. Your rpms are ok? Exhaust is ok?

Any mil codes? Clean the throttle-body, check iac/idle air control. Check for vacuum leaks. If you block the mouth of the throttle-body any effect on the idle?

It was the fan. And I replaced the valve stem seals and now it smokes worse than it did before, I was told that will go away?
