Ford Ranger Gas Problem
WAS GETTING HOT AND WOULD HAVE TO STOP AND COOL AND ADD WATER. THEN WOULDNT START AFTER GETTING HOT. wILL CRANK AND ATTEMPT TO START BUT WONT START. SOUNDS LIKE BACK FIRE BUT UP FRONT NEAR THROTTLE OR INTAKE. CHECKED FUEL PUMP, WATER IS FINE, OIL, AND GAS. WHEN RAN HOT THE LAST TIME IT SPELLED LIKE MAYBE GAS IN THE WATER

Have the compression tested. The overheating could have damaged the head gasket resulting in low compression and difficult or non starting.
