What are the tell, tell signs, that you may have blown a rod. Going up hill,( not pushing speed, around 45mph) heard slight wine, truck started to vibrate. made it home, but when starting truck, sounds extreamly loud. no sign of oil leak.

A problem with the rod will make a knocking noises-not whining

The wine was a split second, could have nothing to do woth the problem. The truck is knocking, LOUDLY... can fell vibration in the steering wheel. Sound horrible..

If the knocking is coming from the lower part of the engine-could be a rod/main bearings-check oil pressure-

oil pressure fine, no check engion light. all gauges point to normal.
