1992 Chevrolet Silverado Repair Question

I cant seem to find out what this ugly knocking noise is!
I am hearing a loud knocking sound in the engine,. I was able to narrow it down to the 8th Cylinder but still cant figure out what it is, just added oil so it cant be that, im totally stuupmed i have no idea what it is, and i dont want to buy something and it not be the problem,and im stuck without a car till i get it fixed, PLEASE HELP!!

could be a hundred things. without seeing and hearing it, we are guessing.
could be a piston, rod bearing or main bearing or something in the valve train.
you should have a shop at least check it for you.
