Timing marks

Hi i recently pulled out my distributer assembly to change the o-ring but now i see that there is a dot looking type at the end of the distributer shaft. can you give me a diagram of the shaft how to set it. Its where the shaft meets to the cam blt with a gear. THANKS

Turn Crankshaft until #1 cylinder is in compression stroke and aligned with 5-degree before TDC on timing case cover.

Begin inserting distributor with rotor pointing upward and distributor mounting hole aligned with center of mounting bolt hole. When fully inserted rotor will rotate into position.

Align signal rotor tooth with signal generator.
