Tempeture gauge is maxed out, but is not overheating. Fuel gauge does not work, happens after a jump start?

As far as the temp gage, unplug the temperature switch, turn key on, see how the gage reacts. I haven't found a wiring diagram on temperature switch? All I found so far is the cts.

Electronics don't like voltage spiles. Any applicable mil codes? Just trying to find out if you can communicate with computer.
