Nissan Maxima Speedometer Problem
Overdrive on my 1991 nissan maxima will not engage nad the cruise control will not set.

If we assume the two things are related, I'd suspect a problem with the speed sensor. If your car still uses a speedometer cable, the speedometer will work while the cruise control will not. Starting by the late '80 cars stopped using speedometer cables. The speedometer was all electronic, and a bad speed sensor would cause the speedometer and other things to not work.
