Auto transmission
1991 nissan 300zx auto trans the car takes off in second and shifts to third but no overdrive which sol.in the trans controls this

Check and test the vehicle speed and throttle position sensors-these the ones that feeds the computer an input signals relating to throttle and governor pressures at which time the computer commands a given solenoids to provides upshifts/downshifts/locked-up/overdrive even the coolant temperature sensor has to do with overdrive in a given temperature.
