How do I troubleshoot my fan clutch? I am getting a little hot when stopped in traffic. It cools down when I drive at normal speed. Should I be able to move the fan with my hand when the engine is hot and turned off?

Yes, you would be able to turn it by hand when it's hot. However, you should actually hear the fan spinning when the engine is getting hot.

I can't tell the difference. It doesn't make noise like an electric fan.

IF YOU'LL FIRE IT UP COLD AND LISTEN TO IT (STANDING IN FRONT) YOU'LL HEAR IT "ROAR" AS THE CLUTCH "STIFFENS UP" AND THE FAN BLADES DRAW MORE AIR, AS THE RADIATOR GETS HOTTER

. NORMALLY WHEN THE CLUTCH COOLS DOWN. THE ROAR WILL GO AWAY. THE CYCLE WILL REPEAT OVER AND OVER AS YOU STAND THERE AND LISTEN

YOU MAY HAVE A PARTIALLY STOPPED UP RADIATOR MAKING IT RUN HOTTER
