Our grandma's car was stolen and recovered. We purchases a new ignition lock cylinder. Didn't look like we need to repair the housing (not sure of correct name) so we're just replacing the part were the key goes in. We managed to get the old one out and the new one in. Problem is the key will start the car but will not go into the "0" position which enables the key to come out. The car was in neutral during the hole process and the key was turned to the "I" position. Not sure what we're doing wrong. Please help!
