What does the starter have to do with this problem? Have you checked if the distributor shaft is rotating? Have you checked for voltage to the distributor and ignition coil? Have you even checked for spark? What about fuel pressure? We don't even know what car model you have, the engine size, or any details or symptoms. It would be less expensive to have the system professionally diagnosed. Throwing random parts at the problem is the most expensive and least effective way to solve a problem.
