where do I find the starter

where is the precise location of the starter on my 1991 ford mustang 5.0. h.o. lx and how can i remove it for inspection? When key is turned in the ignition the dash lights come on , but there is no turn over no noise ... i removed the distributor cap that ended up being bad i have replaced the distributor cap and the rotor ive also purchased a new battery and no luck please help ......

It is on the side of the engine, mounted to the transmission bell housing. It is as high as the top of the oil pan. Make sure to disconnect the battery before removing the starter and then take it to a parts store to have checked. Most will do it for free.
