It most likely has a bad bearing in it. I don't feel the graphite will help.

To replace bearings, it should be removed.

MAYBE ITS THE CLUTCH?
OBSERVE THE CLUTCH PORTION OF THE A/C COMPRESSOR---WITH A/C AND HEAT MODES OFF
IS IT SORTA TURNING SLOW (NOT IN SYNC W/ THE PULLEY, STOPPING, STARTING, A TURN OR TWO---OVER AND OVER?
DONE THE SAME THING ON AN E-259 PLUMBING VAN I USED TO DRIVE
I TOLD THE BOSS I COULDN'T TAKE IT ANY MORE.....THE RADIO WOULDN'T DROWN IT OUT
THE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY WAS ABOUT $80 GIVE OR TAKE---HE BOUGHT IT--I PUT IT ON
THE CHEAPSKATE !
