It could be many things. Does the engine misfire? When was the last tune up? Have you checked fuel pressure? any vacuum leaks?

Replaced distributor cap, it's a little loose could that be a problem? The engine hasn't ever misfired. Last tune up today with spark plugs and plug wires. Last week oil filter changed due to oil drip. Checked for vacuum leaks; but not by professional. Put new fuel pressure gauge on last month. Any new thoughts?

How loose is the distributor cap? That shouldn't be loose.
