I came home and my brake lights were on and they won't turn off. Maybe the rain?

Pull up on the brake pedal. If the lights go off, the brake light switch is out of adjustment. To adjust it, push the pedal down a little, find the cylindrical switch in a tube right behind the pedal, (closer to the driver's seat), and push that switch forward toward the brake pedal. Release the pedal. When it comes back it will push the switch to its happy spot and it will be adjusted. In some instances it might not adjust from the return of the spring-loaded pedal. You don't want that switch holding the brake pedal down because that will cause dragging and overheating brakes. If necessary, pull up lightly on the pedal to help the switch adjust.
