I have a 91 chev 1500 truck, it is set on top dead center but will not fire, it cranks over. It has 95 psi from the pistons and has spark and gas. However when i took the spark plugs out to check them they are not wet like they were getting any fuel to them. The motor has been redone up to the "starting" point and now it won't start. Any ideas?

ARE YOU SKILLED IN SETTING YOUR #1 PISTON TO TDC, OR IS THIS SOMETHING YOU SORTA HAVE DONE FOR THE 1ST TIME?

WHAT DOES A SQUIRT OF STARTER FLUID INTO THE THROTTLE BODY DO---RELENTLESS OVER AND OVERS?...OR DOES IT SPIT AND SPUTTER LIKE IT MIGHT WANT TO BUST OFF?

NOT DOUBTING YOUR ABILITIES, SOMETIMES YOU (AND I) GET "FOCUSED" AND CAN'T CHANGE YOUR OWN MIND

the enigine is a 350 5.7 L TBI. I poured raw gas into the carb with no success. Will spit and sputter a little when throttle is wide open. Throttle closed will not do anything

you may be 180 degrees off on the distributor. you may have set it on valve overlap instead of compression

WELL NO ANSWER ON INSTALLING

MAYBE THIS WILL HELP, 2 VIDEOS...I WAS GONNA GIVE IT TO YOU ANYWAY

REALLY LISTEN TO BOTH OF THESE, THEY EXPLAIN THE EZ WAY AND THE HARDER WAY

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5a2X9mSSlQY

VIDEO 2

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FHX1yXVyIMg&feature=relmfu

IF YOU ARE BUMPING THE ENGINE TO FIND COMPRESSION STROKE--IT IS EZ TO BUMP TOO FAR, OR THE ENGINE ROLL BACK ON YOU

OR EVEN A DUMBER THING, YOU ROLL THE ENGINE THE WRONG WAY TO LINE UP YOUR MARKS!

NOT USING THE "REAL" #1 CYLINDER...IS SOMETHING I'VE SEEN TOO!

REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOU USE THE "STARTER" OR YOU ROLL THE ENGINE WITH A BIG RATCHET (I PREFER THE RATCHET), REMEMBER THIS:

........AFTER YOU GET THE "SPIT" AT YOUR FINGER, LINING UP YOUR TIMING MARKS TO "ZERO" OR "TDC" WILL BE ***LESS THAN 1/2 A CRANK TURN AWAY*** !!!, (USUALLY LESS THAN A 1/4 TURN)....IF IT'S MORE THAN A 1/2 TURN, YOU HAVE DONE SOMETHING WRONG

KEEP US POSTED
