van with a 4.3 it wont stay running

i have a 1991 chevy astro van with a 4.3 it wont stay running. it will sit idling for 5 mins then will die. I have to keep my foot on the gas and brake at the same time to stop and keep running. it will be fine driving regular but not when it is time to go stop it runs for about 5 mins and then dies. When stopping have to hold brake and gas

Check fuel pump output pressure.At idle and off idle. Check and clean the idle air control valve and the egr.

would it look like a plunger with soft rubber on one side and has a rod or cable hooked to it
