Ac vents giving a weird smell like alcohol
1990 olds delta 88 - smell coming from vents. 2 ways to descrbe smell. like a fresh new air mattress, rubber smell. and like a fresh bottle of rubbing alcohol. not all the time but when running a/c and gets very strong. ac is still cold.

check to see if your drain is plugged or not. then spary some air freshener on the vent outside the windshield. you may have a heater core leaking though. the drain is under the car you'll see a hose run something through it to make sure it's not plugged.

i did check the drain for the evaporator and it is flowing freely. still getting this smell. any other ideas?

then have your coolingsystem pressure tested. your heater core may be leaking.
