Surge when in overdrive, with rpm at say 3000, the surge will go from 200 up to 900 rpm for several seconds then drop back down. Then do it again several seconds later. Only happens when engine is completely warmed up. Does not always happen when driving but does quite often. New exhaust system was installed recently and the surge stopped for a couple of weeks, then returned again and has been doing it ever since.

I would try cleaning the throttle body out with some throttle body cleaner and see if that helps.

Yes, not sure if my mechanic has tried that yet. What would be your suggestion if that doesn't work?

Thanks, those sound like logical suggestions. Don't know if the mechanic looked at those previously. He is not available currently so will run by soon. If he has looked at those already, can I follow up with you for additional suggestions on this gremlin?
