If the service engine soon light is coming on while its running then there should be codes. How did you check for codes?

That would be a code 12 it will repeat three times then flash the next code if there is one that is normal. Are there any other codes? Also its normal for the service engine soon light to turn off after starting it. You code have done the same code flashing with a paper clip and saved 30 bucks.

Thats a tough one since it starts right back up and runs another 4mins.I would watch the fuel pressure when it dies and see what it reads. Also what size engine do you have?

You can hook the fuel pressure gauge up and run the hose between the hood and the hood seal and tape the fuel pressure gauge to the windshield. I have done it many times.

Your going to have to buy some or rent some or take it to a shop. Cant fix anything or test anything without tools. You can rent a fuel pressure at auto zone.
